Comedian Jerry Seinfeld starred in one of the most acclaimed television shows ever. On one early episode Jerry cracked this now famous joke: “According to most studies, people’s number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Now this means to the average person, if you have to go to a funeral you’re better off in the casket than doing the eulogy.”

We’re not exactly sure which “most studies” Jerry was referring to, but we do recognize that effective and confident public speaking and debate skills are best learned and developed by school age.  This most fundamental belief led Cogito Debate to create a speech and debate program that teaches children the 3 C’s of Education: communication, critical thinking and creativity. These skills go beyond public speaking, and help students build mental habits that will increase both academic and professional success.

Cogito Debate Core Classes are designed to help students develop confidence in their public speaking skills. Our highly trained coaches support our students in developing their communication style, utilizing their critical thinking skills, and finding their own creative voice.

All Cogito Core classes are a blended learning environment, in which students engage in Socratic discussion on lecture topics, learn speaking and communication strategies, and give speeches!

Cogito classes are designed to increase the confidence of both shy and outgoing students.
